2010 Custom Built Harley-Davidson Streetglide

Introducing the newest Columbus Car Audio & Accessories Demo Vehicle!

For several years now we’ve dreamed of building our own Harley-Davidson motorcycle to take with us to events to show off all that we can do. We wanted to build something truly custom that would really impress, and we’ve finally completed it!

We started with a stock 2010 Harley-Davidson Street Glide and completely transformed it, inside and out, everything was either replaced or extensively customized.

Starting at the front of the bike, we had our friends at Twisted Image Cycles in Coshocton cut the frame, and weld in a rake kit to accommodate a 26” front wheel.  To finish off the front end, we added a B’COOL fender, and smooth fork legs.  After that, the stock outer fairing was modified extensively which included recessing, angling, and adding a hood to the headlight.  At the top of the fairing we deleted the separate windshield, and molded in an extremely low-profile version that blends with the lines of the fairing.  For the inner fairing we used a Metra Electronics inner fairing kit that we modified for OEM level fitment.

Moving on to the gas tank, we started with the stock Harley-Davidson tank, and welded a skeleton with steel rod into the shape we were after.  From there, we shaped it with 2-part foam, and finished it in fiberglass.  You definitely won’t see another one like it.  We built the dash from scratch in-house as well using 2-part foam and fiberglass, since no off the shelf part would have fit the custom tank.  To get the look we were after, the dash design also required re-routing the wiring to the tank.  Pairing nicely with the tank are the Speed By Design side covers that we reworked to match up to the tank shape, and the seat which we custom built a fiberglass pan for.  For the seat foam and stitching, we enlisted the help of our friends at All N All Customs in Whitehall Ohio.  They upholstered the seat with a mix of black leather and suede which matches the bike’s aesthetic perfectly.

Other details on the body of the bike include powder coated engine parts, wheels, and handlebars for which we once again enlisted the help of our friends over at Twisted Image Cycles in Coshocton Ohio.  A great client of ours did the CNC made cam cover, and derby cover with our logo on them (Thanks John!!). Front and rear air ride and a motorized center stand was installed to give it the killer stance that it has.   Then, we added about three rolls of white underbody LEDs throughout (which is a lot for a bike).

For the back of the bike, the rear fender, and saddle bags are also from Speed By Design.  The rear fender is one of only 2 body parts on the entire motorcycle that we didn’t modify in some way (the other part is the front fender). The saddle bags were re-worked extensively for the elaborate audio system that we added, and for the custom taillights complete with sequencer modules to make them blink in a pattern instead of all at once.

A Columbus Car Audio & Accessories bike wouldn’t be complete without an amazing audio system, so Dan and Todd at our Reynoldsburg store set out to design something that would not only look exciting, but sound amazing too!

For the radio we chose a Pioneer DMHWC5700NEX with a 6.8” touchscreen display complete with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto for easy phone integration for the rider. This head unit feeds signal to a Hertz S8 digital signal processor for infinite adjustability, and higher audio performance that’s installed in the fairing.

We then installed two Hertz SP4.900 ultra-compact amplifiers in each bag. These are housed in a custom amp rack we fabricated to fit the bags with addressable RGB lighting and laser etched details on the trim. Within each bag, under the amplifiers, are enclosures we built to fit two Hertz SV200L 8” mid bass speakers. That’s a grand total of four amplifiers and four mid bass speakers on this ride! This whole bike contains miles of wiring that we meticulously and cleanly installed, plus the bags have a 32-pin bulkhead connector we purposely used so that we could easily unplug if we ever need to detach for service.

The amps also power all the new speakers in the fairing and the bag lids. The fairing holds new Hertz SV165 NEO mid-range speakers and ST25 NEO tweeters, while the lids hold SV200 NEO 8” mid-range speakers and ST35 NEO tweeters. Speaker grilles were custom made in house from laser cut acrylic with CCA logo badging and suede detailing, all with addressable RGB lighting that can be controlled from a phone.

We can’t wait for you to see and hear this bike!
