The 2014 SEMA show kicked off this week with the annual new product awards breakfast. The ceremony covered everything from the best merchandising display to the best racing and street performance products.
The category we like to keep an eye on is the Best New Mobile Electronics Product, with this year’s winner 
being App-Tronics for its SmartNav 5. The SmartNav 5 is a rear view mirror, to replace the factory mirror, with an embedded 5 inch capacitive display screen with 600 nit brightness, allowing the display to be clear even in sunlight. It works with a back-up camera to show rear blind zones, and can work with a smartphone to give audible navigation cues and play music.
